The last a few decades have witnessed rapidly growing research activities on various anomalous physical
behaviors of materials to which the standard theories cease to work. Ever since de Gennes proposed the term
for this kind of materials in 1991, the concept of soft matter has been accepted in remarkable speed by a fast increasing
scientist population. Number of researches and publications on soft matter science (AKA condensed soft
matter science) has been escalating in an amazing rate. Soft materials are those more commonly used in various
fields, such as fibrous, particulate, porous and discrete media.
This symposium aims at building bridges between different disciplines of shared interest in soft materials
including theoretical modeling, experimental investigation and industrial applications. Thus presentations of review
and perspective of the current and potential research areas are especially welcome.
